History

History of Parque Bustamante

Parque Bustamante is a linear park almost two kilometers long that runs south from Plaza Baquedano along the route of the old ring railway.

It works as a corridor between Providencia, Santiago and Ñuñoa, and as a sports and cultural space for the eastern edge of downtown: courts, playgrounds, a bike path and old trees along its entire length.

The Café Literario, a public library with a café and a view of the park, is its most recognizable building and keeps a free cultural program all year round.

In its immediate surroundings are Barrio Italia, the Bustamante axis with its food scene and the direct connection to Lastarria and Bellas Artes via Plaza Baquedano.
