Museums, Parque Forestal and neighborhood life
Events, fairs and shows in Barrio Bellas Artes this month.
This is where the month's events, fairs and shows in the neighborhood will go. If you organize activities in Barrio Bellas Artes, add them to the hub and they'll appear in these listings.
Bellas Artes grew up around the palace that gives it its name, opened in 1910 for the Centennial, and around Parque Forestal, which tidied up the banks of the Mapocho in the early 20th century.
It is a small-scale neighborhood: passageways, 1930s apartment buildings and ground-floor premises that today house cafés, design shops, bookshops and restaurants.
Within a few blocks you'll find the National Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) and a permanent program of exhibitions, fairs and outdoor activities in the park.
Its location connects it on foot with Lastarria, the Historic Center and Bellavista, making it one of the most convenient starting points for exploring Santiago without taking transport.
